Teresa B of Armed With A Keyboard has deemed me worthy of nomination for the Liebster Award!! Go and check out her blog for some feel good posts and inspiration!
The 11 questions that I was asked.
- Where are you from?
I am from the not-so-magical land of the United Kingdom. West Berkshire, if you want to be more specific (but not so specific that you can stalk me :P).
2. What has inspired you to start writing?
Writing has always been a part of my life, in some form or another. But what inspired me to write fiction was simply reading… a lot of reading. I have always loved fantasy, sci-fi and horror. I love the way that these genres in particular, can transport the mind out of this reality. I think that is my main reason for writing fiction. I want to create alternate worlds for people to escape to, because that is something that has always helped me in tough times.
3. What is your blog about?
My blog is about my writing journey. I aim to one day be a full-time writer of fiction, and my blog is a place where I record my progress. It’s a place where I share a lot of my short stories, and what I have learned about writing fiction. It’s also a place where I share a bit about myself and values that I believe in. I enjoy encouraging others to do what they want and live how they want, as that is essentially what I am attempting.
4. What is the one thing you most want to do in your life?
Oops, pretty much answered this one up there. The answer is, be a full-time writer of fiction.
5. What is your favorite book?
Now that’s a hard one. I think that I’ll have to go for a series, and that series is the Night Angel Trilogy, by Brent Weeks. If you’re a fan of Dark Fantasy, go check it out. It’s superbly written and seriously addictive.
6. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I think that I’ve always known that I want to be a writer in some form. Probably since skipping classes at school to read Lord of the Rings in the library. 😛 It has only been about two years since I started to write fiction, and only about eight months since writing fiction seriously. It has only been recently that it has dawned on me how much I want to make this dream a reality.
7. What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Read novels and comics. Watch anything and everything on Netflix. Drink copious amounts of coffee. Play on the Playstation4.
8. What does literary success look like to you?
I’m not sure, to be honest. Still figuring that one out. Guess I’ll know if I get there.
9. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
So far, the release of my Novella and the feedback that I’ve got about it. I still find it hard to believe that people have bought and are reading a book that I wrote. It still feels quite surreal. I just can’t wait to release more.
10. What would you do if you were invisible for a day?
Probably nothing different from usual. I’d still spend the day writing. Am I an addict? 😛
11. What living person, other than family members, do you most admire?
I admire anyone who chooses to be themselves. Anyone who fights to do what they love, despite the odds. I admire real people.
